Putting the Co Back in Regulation

An invitation to reframe the way you view and support your child’s sensory needs

My Philosophy

This isn’t the traditional approach to occupational therapy or sensory support for children.

Through the Sensory + Sol framework, I believe that sensory processing develops within the context of safe attachment relationships.

It can be challenging, confusing, and isolating to raise a child with sensory needs. They need your sturdiness to regulate and participate more than other children do. And what they need may be more than you can offer them right now. This is not a parenting failure. This is your nervous system needing support before you can support your child.

Your nervous system flexibility helps to create the conditions for your child’s regulation skills to develop through co-regulation. And I’m here to help you discover what may be impacting your own regulation capacity and share tools to shift out of dysregulation.

I look at sensory needs in a broader lens. A relational lens. One that believes that your nervous system is an integral part of your child’s sensory environment.

Before I ask the question “what sensory supports does this child need to regulate themselves?”, I ask “are they oriented to adults who can help them develop foundational regulation skills?”

What I Offer

I offer support to you as the parent of a child with sensory needs.

Through our 1:1 sessions, you will:

  • Broaden your understanding of your child’s unique sensory profile

  • Understand the role of co-regulation in the development of a child’s nervous system

  • Learn how your own nervous system regulation works

  • Explore several domains that may be impacting your ability to orient to, respond to, or connect with your child

  • Develop skills and tools to shift out of dysregulation

  • Feel more sturdy as the central regulator of your home

*I do not provide individualized assessment for your child or determine their sensory profile
